Hope your weeks have been great! I enjoyed the baseball and soccer and general insanity that was last week.. and then off to Oregon with the grads! It was a great time, and surfing is much harder than it looks.

This week is going to be our last foundations for the year! And we're going to end it on a note talking about encouragement. What kind of a community do we want to be? What does it mean to really encourage other people? How do our flash judgement of people when we first see them affect whether we really get to know them?

I think it's going to be a great conversation, with plenty of laughs and leaving us all thinking.

Hope your weeks have been great! Between last week and this one, I've been all the way to Oregon and back surfing with our Grade 12 grads. Good times had by all... and surfing is HARD!

Tomorrow night we're heading to Castle Fun Park! For $15, we're going to go mini golfing or go-karting, get a chance in the batting cages, and get time in the arcade. A great time to bring a friend to come hang out at youth! We're leaving the church around 6:45, and we'll be wrapping up around8:45 PM tomorrow. Pickup for the night will be at 9:00!

As always, money should never be a reason you don't come... so if that's the reason, give me a call or send me an e-mail and we'll work something out.

Hope you're weeks have been going great! I spent the beginning of the week up at Harrison at the pastor and spouse's retreat, and it was great!

Tomorrow night, usual time, usual place, unusual event! Hanna and Rachel were practically begging me to have some crazy outdoor games... so we made a deal. We're going to head over to Dormick Park to play some fun outdoor games, and you need to bring your running shoes and your baseball gloves.

We'll get a game going, and enjoy the beautiful weather that God has given us. There may be slurpee's involved afterwards if people want to as well! So bring your running shoes, and your baseball gloves, and come prepared to have a great time!

Hope your weeks have been fantastic! Great weather outside... and a great start to May!

Tomorrow evening, we're going to be learning a little bit about WORSHIP. What is it? How do we participate in it? How do we do it? Believe it or not... you're always worshipping.

Tomorrow night we're going to have a chance to refocus ourselves on God, and do plenty of other things! I have lots of activities planned and stations. So come prepared to enter into some worship. Not going to be a 'high activity night', so just prepare yourself!

This week you're all heading around town for various small group activities! So make sure you read carefully, and let me know if you have any questions so we can get it cleared up.

Ladies

You will all (Ruth and Tonia's small groups) be meeting at Ruth's house at 6:00 PM, that's 30 minutes before normal. They've told me a little bit about what they have up their sleeves, and it sounds wonderfully scary. Pickup will be the usual time. They tell me that snacks will be served! No doubt in style. If you don't have Ruth's address, check your e-mail or get in contact with me, and I'll pass it along!

Boys

For Cory's group, you'll be meeting at his house at 6:30. Make sure that if you're driving a bus, you swing WIDE! If getting out to his place is a problem, just give him a call or send him a text (and say who it is!), to let him know, and he'll work out rides. If you don't have his number or address, check your e-mail or get a hold of me and I'll pass it along.

For Dennis'/Jordan's Group, you'll be meeting at the church at 6:30. Rumour has it Dennis has abandoned you for California, so you'll have to give him a really hard time for that. Good news is that Jordan loves you! I'd suggest you bring running shoes, knowing you boys.

This week we have some fun stuff planned for you... and it's all weather dependent. Our hope is to be outside, running around in the fields, but there is a chance that it will be raining, and if that's the case, we'll be inside. The joy is that no matter what, we'll be having plenty of fun!

We're finishing off April with an EPIC night. A little thing we call A Knight's Tale. Medieval themed games and insanity! There will be eating contests, jousting, a test of whits and besieging the castle! Make sure you bring some clothes you're ok with potentially getting dirty... hint hint.

This e-mail is doing double duty First is to tell you that we have youth this Thursday! The second is that we are still looking for one more stop for Progressive Dinner on Thursday!

Firstly... we have the progressive dinner on Thursday! We'll meet at the church for 5:30 PM (One hour earlier than normal) and drive all around town to a variety of stops and places for dinner. It will give us less rushed time, and more enjoyable time. If you can't make it for that time, let me know and I'll let you know whereabout we'll be, so you can catch up to us.

Secondly, we're still looking for a soup and buns stop for Thursday night! Everything else has been graciously covered by awesome people. It's going to be great! So if your family, or someone you know can host us for soup and buns, have them give me a call or send me an e-mail! Makes a youth pastor happy!

For parents... a reminder that the progressive dinner is coming this Thursday, and I'm still looking for people to help out! If you, or someone you know would be willing to host youth for a progressive dinner, I'd love to hear from you

This is a reminder that there is NO youth this Wednesday night... those who signed up will be heading to SHINE this Friday instead! So... if you aren't coming to SHINE, and you're wondering what you can do this Wednesday night... here's a few suggestions.

1) Watch the Canucks (I'll withhold judgement on the outcome...)
2) Invite your youth friends over and have a dance party
3) Invite your youth friends over and do something wonderful for your neighbourhood
4) Do your devo's
5) Buy a pack of skittles, and bake Skittle Muffins
6) Write your youth pastor a short story that will make him laugh (with potential prizes)

For those of you coming to SHINE who may not have gotten the e-mail... meet at the church for 5:30 PM on Friday, and we'll be back at the church for 2 PM on Sunday.
