interCHANGE: Harvest
This Sunday, we're going to talk about the changing meaning of harvest. We've gone from a society that was built around agriculture, to a more modern, consumerist culture, where the only thing marking 'harvest time' is the changing of the seasons. We're going to get together all different generations of Bakerview to talk about how 'harvest' is still real to us today, and share some of our experiences from the past!
I'd love to have you there, youth, parents and grandparents alike. We'll have snacks available, so please let me know if you plan on being there! Our morning will get started at 10 AM in the Fireside room (behind the Sanctuary).
Small Groups
It's the start of a new thing at Bakerview! We're going to begin Small Groups this year with a bang. I've done my best to accommodate the requests you made for the Small Groups, however I wasn't able to in all cases. I hope that these will be groups for you to grow in, and grow with! As with anything, what you put into them will be what you get out. It will take a lot of work, and time to build the trust needed.

We're starting off this week at 6:30 at the Church with some team building games, some challenges and fun events, and then time for you to sit down and talk. We'll be talking about what it means to live by faith. We focus a lot on what we do, and whether we're good enough. Our relationship with God, though, has nothing to do with that, it has everything to do with who we are and what we believe.
Should be a good time of discussion!
Foundations: Jesus, Prophet
Wednesday is almost upon us! I hope that you have enjoyed the West Coast in the past few days... it's definitely been rainy! I've been busy teaching exploRE at MEI Middle, and planning for our youth retreats!
Don't forget that the registrations will be available for you (and any friends you want to invite!) on Wednesday. Make sure you get them home to your parents, and get signed up.
For Foundations this week, we're going to continue our conversation from last week... Jesus is our King, he's also our friend... and now we're going to learn what it means that Jesus is a prophet!
Things get started at 6:30! See you there!
Foundations: What is Church?
What is Church? Why do we even have the buildings we have? Why do we meet on Sundays?
Maybe these are some questions you've asked. They are going to be a few of the many questions we're going to look at on Thursday during Foundations! More importantly, we're going to look at the question: Where do I fit in?
Even (or Especially?) as a Teenager, you can have a huge role in the church, and help shape what the future looks like!
Come out for 6:30 with your Bible's. See you then!
Ad-Lib Night
Can you believe it's time to get together again already!? It's so exciting! Last week was a great time of building towers, stories and memories. (Queue cheesy sound effect)
Tomorrow night, at 6:30 PM, we're meeting again at the church for the always zany time of Ad-Lib Night! If you've never filled in a Mad-Lib, you've never lived! The good news is... tomorrow night is up to you! I'll wirte the script, but you need to fill in the story and what we're going to be doing! It's going to be wild, off the cuff, and tons of fun!
Bring a friend, and we'll see you at 6:30!
Youth Kickoff – Blaster Warz
Do you like running through the dark? Shooting other people with finger blasters? Glow sticks? Epic music? All of the above?
Then I've got the event for you! We're kicking off the year with a little bit of fun! We're blacking out the Gym, pulling out the epic music, obstacles and finger blasters... and having an epic game!
Things get rolling at 6:30 PM, and we'll be wrapping up at 9:30 PM. Bring a little extra cash for a trip to Tim Horton's through the night! See you Thursday!
Youth Kickoff – The Great Make
The time has come again! It's time to start youth! You've been in school for a week, but now it's time for fun.
We're kicking off the year with a little event I like to call... the Great Make! We'll be hiding supplies all around the church, and it will be the goal of your group to find whatever you can and bring it back to the youth room. THEN... you have to build a variety of structures... The tallest, the widest, the coolest! And some actions scenes too.
So come out and bring a friend! We're starting off a great year!
