Summer Events
Summer is upon us! Youth has now wrapped up for the 2010-2011 school year .
That means summer events are coming! We have three major events planned through the summer, and we'll be doing some smaller events as well. A lunch at Red Robin's, anyone? An afternoon throwing around a frisbee? What other ideas might you want to try out for the summer?
The primary form of sign-up is via our online forms. It means you can sign up, and drop off the payment whenever is convenient for you! If you attended (or your youth attended) a youth event in this past year, then they have an account. If you can't seem to find them, send me an e-mail, and I'll make sure everything is hunky-dory. If you really don't want to sign up online, then I've attached forms for you to fill out as well.

Interchange
Hello Parents.
I'm sad that I neglect this section of the youth blog. I do mean that! However, I wanted to make you aware of our Learning Centre hour this Sunday.
As you may (or may not...) know, we've gone through the Psalms, Daniel and James chapter by chapter with the youth. It's been a great year! Pastor Ray and I have been discussing ways to help make our Learning Centre hours more beneficial to the adults, as well as to help bridge the generation gap.
For those of you who were present back in January/February, we had a little experiment around tables in the Gym, and it went swimmingly. So we're going to try something else out this Sunday.
Inter-Change. We'll be again sitting around tables, this time in room 300, and follow a more small-groupish feel around the tables as we study through Joshua. The goal is to experiment with multi-generational bible classes, that will appeal to all age groups.
Your presence is important! We'd love for you to join us this Sunday from 10-11 in Room 300. All I ask is that you RSVP to me by Thursday so we can make sure to have enough chairs and food available!

Year-End Party!
It's time to celebrate!
You've surviv... I mean enjoyed 10 months of youth! What an awesome accomplishment. We've thrown skittles at one another, played far too many games in the dark, shot finger blasters, been to camp Squeah, studied through 2.8 books of the Bible (give or take 5), and made plenty of new friends. We're going to celebrate that fact with an awesome BBQ up at Hatzic Lake.
Now... listen up, because things have changed for this week. Both Juniors and Seniors are meeting on THURSDAY, and the youth event is starting at 5PM and ending at 9:30PM. The bus will be pulling out of Bakerview at 5:15, so you don't want to be late!
What do you need to bring for such an epic party of epicness? You need to bring some running shoes. You need to bring weather appropriate clothing. You need to bring a swimsuit (if you want to go in the pool). You need to bring an excellent attitude! and.... you need to bring $5!
You'll get dinner, snacks, sports, games, and prizes out the deal! It's going to be AWESOME!

Senior Encore Night
We're almost at the end! What a sad, sad thing. But the good news is... you get one final say into what we are doing for youth! The Encore Night is here!
This is the way it will work, the poll will be open from Monday until Thursday at noon. Your voting directly affects what we will be doing that night. So pick wisely, and get your friends (who come to youth) to vote with you! Then, Thursday night, we'll do that event!
Here's your options:
Show & Tell - You get to bring the best possible show and tell item to youth! And... we get to hear the story!
Ice Blocking - Riding a cold block of ice down a steep hill... like it's winter, except it's hot outside!
Scavenge to Win! - A minute to win it kind of night, where you need to find the items in order to play the game!
Murder Mystery - Something terrible has happened at the church, and you're part of the night!

Junior Encore Night
The second last week of youth! Who would have ever guessed it? It's been a great 10 months, and the summer is going to just keep rolling!
However, it's time like these that we get a chance to slow down, reflect, and then party! Below is the official poll for Encore Night this Wednesday! Based on your votes, we'll have whatever youth event you want the most. You are in control!
Murder Mystery - Something terrible has happened at Bakerview... and you're part of the fun!
Photo Scavenger Hunt - Grab your camera's and get ready... we're going on an adventure!
Blaster Warz - Conrad's favourite, Alissa's least... we set up the gym, put glow sticks everywhere, and shoot each other with awesome music playing!
Playground Games - Grounders... Tag, and TURTLE TAG!
Ice Blocking - Riding a cold, hard block of ice down an unforgiving hill at top speeds! AWESOME!
Crayola Creations - We cover up the youth room in paper, and you draw to your hearts content.
Yuck Night - A blender, mystery items, and eating. Puking is optional, but highly recommended.
Voting closes at Noon on Wednesday, and the event starts at 6:30 that night! See you then!
ALL-NIGHTER!
This Friday, starting at 6:30, the fun begins. We have quite a bit planned for you this year, and I think you're going to find yourself quite entertained by the whole thing.
First up will be... bowling. We're going to go for a bit of late night Friday glow bowl, complete with black lights and 10 pins.
Shortly thereafter will be a mid-evening snack... in the form of a slurpee run!
Next will be the ice rink! If you have some, bring your skates. We'll have games that will involve both skates and regular old footwear, so no one will be left out!
And who doesn't love a good late-night bonfire? Complete with marshmellows, banana boats, and smores! Rumour has it there might be a mud pit involved as well... so bring a change of clothes and a towel.
Then we're heading back to the church for some one on one Sumo Suit action. As per the Facebook vote, the sumo suits have been ordered, and insanity is sure to ensue! I think a little sumo tournament is up for grabs. And of course, we'll have some late night floor hockey as well!
YLT has an epic night game planned for you, with apples, glow sticks and dragons.
Then we will have an assortment of movies from which we will vote! Does anyone have DVD copies of Disney movies? let me know!
The cost for all this? Only $25! You can bring friends!
Everything will wrap up at 8 AM on Saturday morning. We'll be eating Breakfast at 7:30, so make sure your parents are (mostly) on-time!
No youth on Thursday... but I'll see you all on Friday!
