Young Canadians Increasingly Shunning Religious Institutions
As something for you think about, I wanted to provide you a link to an ongoing article series the Globe and Mail is currently writing. They have some interesting insights into the change of youth and young adult culture within Canada that will have wide sweeping effects on Church and Youth Ministry in the next 5-10 years. We're already seeing the effects these things now.

Christmas Banquet
It's a Small World After All! Jingle Bells... *ahem* I forgot myself for a moment. Christmas is nearly upon us! A time to spend with family, to enjoy a year past, and a new one coming. To remember all that has happened, and to celebrate what is yet to come. To remember that we have a Father in heaven who loves us enough to send His own son. It's a great time of year!
It's also a time of the year that we get to celebrate together at youth! We're going to be in the Great Room of the church for our banquet this year. And the theme is... Disney! (no doubt you've already guessed that, and it was met with a collective groan)
There will be games, trivia, prizes and plenty of decorations! We're starting to decorate at 4:30, so if you can come, your help will be greatly appreciated! If not, the dinner starts at 6:30 PM. The cost for the evening will be $10, and you'll be getting an awesome meal out of that! 
If you're coming, please let me know ahead of time so we have an idea for numbers! See you Thursday!
Ugly Sweater Christmas Party
It's everything you've ever imagined. It's all you've ever hoped for. The yearly Christmas party has arrived, with the wonderful theme of Ugly Christmas Sweaters.

Bring out your best (worst?) Christmas sweaters for the party tomorrow night, along with $5. Bring your game face! There will be candy, prizes and plenty of fun games!

Tomorrow night, Thursday, come out for a fun night of looking through the past few months, discussing what's coming, and using your thinking caps. We're going to be looking at what it means to be a Christian!

Menno-Nite
Tonight at 6:30, come out for a crazy throwback. We're going to pretend like we're way back in the days of pink and blue sidewalks, of times when boys weren't allowed to talk to girls... a time of fun!
We'll be doing all sorts of mennonite things, like dutch blitz! See you tonight!
Foundations: Jonah
Your youth pastor is in Disneyland right now... but youth is still on!
Come out Wednesday night with your Bible's (we have some if you don't have one) to learn about the story of Jonah. Alanna is teaching the lesson, and she's got some great things to share with you!
If you don't know... Jonah is a story about a guy who decided to try to get away from God, took a boat, ended up in the ocean, and then got swallowed by a whale! It's a fantastical story about how much God cares for us. And there's a whale.
